It seems a little dumb to care about such things, but I'd like to see Elizabeth Vargas or another talented female newscaster replace Peter Jennings on World News Tonight. I believe whoever was sitting in for Rush Limbaugh today said it very well, and I paraphrase, "If, after having a news story Yahooed, Googled, Drudged and blogged all day, you still need Brian Williams to tell you about it then something is wrong."
The three evening newscasts have a combined audience exceeding 20 million people. The highest-rated show on Fox News, Hannity & Colmes, has 2 million. There's still a pretty significant place for those newscasts.
