Radio UserLand Kick Start: Editing an Entry

This is part of Chapter 2 of the book Radio UserLand Kick Start by Rogers Cadenhead, published by Sams Publishing

Editing an Entry

Radio's weblog editor publishes everything you write on the Web, putting your words in front of the world within a matter of seconds.

If you decide afterward to change something, whether for reasons of grammar, style, or a newfound sense of decorum, an entry can be edited from the home page of the desktop Web site.

Below the editing box, Radio displays the 10 most recent weblog posts alongside a checkbox and an Edit link (Figure 2.4).

Click an entry's Edit link to load it in the editing box and make changes, then use the Post to Weblog button to republish it.

To delete an entry, check the box to the left of the entry, scroll to the bottom of the page, then click the Delete button. There's no undo function to restore a deleted entry, which is removed from the weblog database. Radio republishes the two pages that contained the entry.

If the entry to be edited isn't one of the last 10 entries, use the calendar atop the desktop home page to find it, as shown in Figure 2.4.

The calendar contains links for every day and month that contains weblog entries. Choose a day's link to reload the desktop Web site with a list of all entries written on that date.

Tip: As you're starting a new Radio weblog, you might expect that no one will read it at first because its address has never been shared with anyone.

Guess again. Every time you publish an entry, Radio contacts UserLand's server at Weblogs.Com with news of this fact. Weblogs.Com is a highly popular site that lists several hundred of the most recently updated weblogs at http://www.weblogs.com.
