Visit Florida and let your fleshpots fester

The New York Times has published a "36 hours" travel piece on Amelia Island north of Jacksonville, a place once described as a "festering fleshpot" by President James Monroe.

As a fan of President Monroe I endeavor to return Amelia Island to its state of nature, i.e. a "festering fleshpot", whenever I visit.

That's a worthy goal.

If I lived in Amelia Island, I'd start a local newspaper called the Festering Fleshpot.
