The New York Times covers Radio Sawa, a U.S. government radio network broadcast in the Arab world that mixes pop music with American-friendly news reports. The Arabic station, created by former Westwood One executive Norman Pattiz, can be heard on the Internet. I had no idea the Muslim world was partial to Whitney Houston and Gwen Stefani, but it's already the No. 1 radio station in eight countries.
