VeriSign is getting into the domain speculation business, auctioning off dozens of .bz domains on EBay. They're not very good at it -- a search for all VeriSign auctions shows that the company wanted anywhere from $500 to $10,000 for 170 domains such as online.bz, gay.bz, and photo.bz, but none of the auctions attracted a bid. The domains appear to have been acquired by eNIC, the .CC registrar which VeriSign purchased last December. Meanwhile, Leslie Harpold still doesn't have smug.com or hoopla.com, the domains that VeriSign gave away last month in response to forged faxes.
