The reason for the 30-hour outage at MetaFilter, Q Daily News, and other sites on the same T1 connection? A Verizon tech stole one of the T1's cable pairs to give to another customer. I'm beginning to see why Verizon proactively registered VerizonSucks.Com and tried to get other critical domain names yanked.
