Here's an on-the-record UserLand beef: Jason Levine is thinking seriously about migrating his site off of Frontier. I'm curious to see what he and other emigrants might choose as a replacement. I haven't used anything else that seems to offer comparable integration of a web server, scripting platform, and database.

While not an integrated, single app, using Apache plus MySql plus PHP or perl looks to be equally powerful. And given my complaints about Userland, the lack of integration is a *plus* -- problems with one component don't mean that I have to scrap the whole system.

(Also, if I'm going to have to depend on a product's user community for support rather than it's vendor, then you'd be hard pressed to say that the perl/PHP/Apache/MySql community doesn't have a big step up on Frontier's, if only due to sheer numbers.)
