A little-known fact about Vince Lombardi -- he wouldn't tolerate discrimination against homosexual athletes. In 1969, one of the running backs on Lombardi's Redskins team was gay. Lombardi told his coaches, "if I hear one of you people make reference to his manhood, you’ll be out of here before your ass hits the ground."
