John Ashcroft is a perjurer, claims Andrew Sullivan, a gay conservative who has repeatedly defended President Bush's right to select Ashcroft as attorney general. The basis for Sullivan's claim is a Washington Post report by an office seeker who says Ashcroft began a 1985 job interview with this question: "do you have the same sexual preference as most men?"
