Adam Mathes, the publisher of Trenchant and a founder of Uber.Nu, encouraged people to link the words "talentless hack" to friend Andy Pressman's Web site. He discussed his handiwork while seeking a job at the company:
It was definitely a big thing for them. They told me, "Yes, we've had many meetings about Google bombing." I don't think that's why I didn't get the job, but it probably wasn't the best career move."
According to Mathes, Times reporter Tom McNichol's coverage of this story was a miserable failure.
