Yahoo keys on spam problem

Yahoo is developing Domain Keys, a new authentication system for e-mail to verify a sender's identity before mail is accepted for delivery by the recipient mail server.

Domain Keys will attempt to decrypt a cryptographic key in the message using a public key stored at a familiar location on the message sender's domain. The effort must succeed for the mail to be delivered.

Yahoo engineer Jeremy Zawodny is skeptical of the unilateral approach the company appears to be taking.
