Wired Magazine's worst article ever

Wired contributor Gary Wolf has written a hilarious and detailed account of the worst story the magazine ever published (via RC3).

The one I thought of instantly, Here comes the Zippies!, took a very respectable second place behind a story that Wolf himself co-authored -- the cover story proclaiming the death of the Web browser in favor of push media:

... nothing in Wired before or afterward managed to combine both concrete error and speculative absurdity in such high concentrations; moreover, its influence was real and its effect was malign. ... the Wired cover spawned Push media conferences, push media consultants, push media investment strategies, and uncountable push media nightmares.
