Telemarketing execs used do-not-call list

The Hartford Courant has discovered that 11 executives of the Direct Marketing Association put themselves on the do-not call telemarketing list at the same time they fought in court to kill it. One unnamed executive:

I registered there myself personally for the same reason that other consumers have. I don't want to be bothered by telemarketing calls.

The Trib picked up this story and ran a great headline: "Telemarketers: Don't call us, we'll call you."

The worst thing I can think of to call you is a liberal. But that's bad enough.
