CD buyers will receive $12.63

At the time weblogs started linking to the class-action settlement offer for CD buyers earlier this year, less than 30,000 people had reportedly applied for payments of up to $20 as an apology for price fixing.

Word got out: Associated Press reports today that 3.5 million claimants will receive $12.63 each.

Which is, ironically enough, less than it costs to buy a new CD.
