Google considers deblogging its search results

Andrew Orlowski of The Register believes that Google is about to relegate weblogs to their own Google Groups-style section, removing them from general search results.

Orlowski's piece is full of poorly concealed glee about the prospect, so I'm not surprised that he fails to address the drawback to such a move: Google might become less useful as a source of information on current events.
