America the gullible

There ought to be a law requiring people to search Snopes before forwarding a strange-but-true e-mail to several hundred friends. I received "unbelievable photos" today of the Space Shuttle Columbia exploding. Unbelievable is right, though it didn't stop the letter from being forwarded by people involved in the military, homeland security, and emergency preparedness.

You'd think by now people would catch on, but the nature of the Internet is just too strong. I have been researching internet urban legends for close to five years now. Would appreciate any headers or other information about the forms of this rumor as it continues to evolve and circulate. Thanks for the posting and awareness on the falsity of the issue.
