My weblog is collecting dust this week while I try, without success, to talk to Radio Userland's new XML-RPC interface to the news aggregator. For those who are unfamiliar with the feature, this interface enables applications to rely on Radio Userland for the storage and retrieval of RSS subscriptions and individual news items. You focus on the presentation of the feeds and let Radio Userland do the rest of the work. The sample Java application I'm writing is a Usenet-style interface comparable to Brent Simmons' NetNewsWire for the Mac.
Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in your AggregatorAPI frustrations. I was able to (fairly easily) implement subscribe, unsubscribe, getSubInfo, and getLastScanInfo. getSubs, and getRecentItems have been giving me headaches though. My experiences (in C# for S&G;) are here:

Good luck, I feel your pain. One other thing to note is that for some reason the aggregatorAPI is broken on my [production] radio installation. I had to download an eval account in order to do any testing. After a radio.root update, everything was fine, but I was completely unable to get the same client to talk to my machine.
Hi Rogers,
I'd like to try to get to the bottom of the
problems you and others have reported with
the aggregator API. Can you give me some
specifics about the failure mode? Please
email to jake@userland.com.
Thanks!
