Distributed Proofreaders is an effort to proofread public domain works that have been scanned in for submission to Project Gutenberg. As described today on Slashdot, the project is encouraging volunteers to contribute a single page of work a day. More than 1,100 were completed yesterday. I tried it out today -- one page of a complicated copyright reference book took around 10 minutes.
