Reader Questions

  • Question: After I made a change to a timestamp component, as described in this chapter, why does the change disappear every time I hit the F5 key? I thought it was supposed to refresh the page so it reflects the change I made.

Answer: When you use the F5 key (or Refresh button) while editing a page, FrontPage 2002 may ask if you want to revert to the saved version of the page. In almost all situations, you don't want to do this, so click the No button. Otherwise, FrontPage wipes out every change you have made to the page since it was last saved.
To avoid this confusion, always save the page you are editing before you refresh it.
