Issues USA 1 Issues USA 2 Issues USA 3

Issues USA is brought to you by a team of dedicated and talented TV and journalism veterans. Here's a look at two -- senior producer Bob Chitester and host David Asman.

Senior Producer Bob Chitester, a veteran of television program development and management, brings more than three decades of experience to Issues USA.

Through his firm Chitester Creative Associates, he led the production of TV programs and multimedia products for the educational and direct markets. He produced, wrote and directed an award-winning special on ESPN featuring wheelchair athletes.

In 1966, Chitester became the founding general manager of the Erie, Pennsylvania, PBS station WQLN. One of the programs he developed there was the award-winning Free to Choose by the Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman.

He left WQLN in 1982 and founded the Palmer R. Chitester Fund and continued to product TV programs for both commercial and non-commercial use. Chitester also is founder and CEO of The Idea Channel and Share TV, two start-up ventures in cable-TV programming.

David Asman

Host David Asman, the editorial features editor for The Wall Street Journal, began his journalism career in 1978. Within five years, he came onboard The Journal as an editorial writer.

It was not long before Asman, one of the nation's top young journalists, became editor of the "Manager's Journal" and "Americas" columns for the paper.

He has received the American Press Association's 1992 Daily Gleaner Award for his writing on Mexico and free trade. He also edited the 1990 book The Wall Street Journal on Management: Adding Value Through Synergy. In 1994, Asman was named senior editor for The Journal's editorial page, and this year was named to his current position.

Asman lives in Manhattan with his wife and their son and daughter.
