See You Later, Alligator

I got a flier in the mail informing me that the St. Augustine Alligator Farm is now offering a "parents night out" service:

Let us entertain your kids in a safe and educational environment while you and yours have a night out on the town. Have a nice dinner, take in a movie, or just relax at home; whatever you want, we've got the kids. ...

Includes: 2 slices of pizza per person, drinks, hands-on animal presentation, twilight zoo tour, a craft, nocturnal games and lots of fun!

When I'm looking for a relaxing night out with the missus, nothing puts me more at ease than letting my children roam around after dark in a place where they're not at the top of the food chain.

Do they still market the poor, departed Gomek, or have they found another giant croc to add excitement to the place? We were lucky enough to see Gomek the summer before he kicked the nutria bucket.

They've had a 15-foot-long saltwater crocodile named Maximo for at least five years. Gomek's still around in stuffed form, but Maximo's the star attraction.

Will the "hands-on animal presentation" include wrestling tips? Maybe pepperoni is a gator repellent.

I always love the comment they make about keeping carried toddlers below your bellybutton because gators jump....

::::wonders if the field trip over will be free this year since we're advertising....:::

That actually sounds like great fun for older kids. Does their ad specify age limits? I wouldn't want really young ones to go.
